This paper will discuss the history of the Chinese Magic Square and the numerology used in art and architecture through out history. The paper goes into detail of the formula for the magic square, examples of larger magic squares and the important connection to the Pythagorean theorem. The art motif generated thru the geometry of the magic square was used as a cosmo-magical symbol for the last two thousand years across many cultures. The magic square and its connection to language will also be illustrated.
