THIS PIECE WAS ACQUIRED FROM A MUSEUM DEACCESSION
FASHIONED OF A BLONDE FELTED WOOL AND IS TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION.
THE JACKET IS DOUBLE BREASTED IN FASHION, CLOSING WITH MOTHER OF PEARL BUTTONS WITH BUTTON AT THE CENTER TOP FOR ADDING A COLLAR.
MATCHING BLONDE WOOL BRAID DETAILS DOWN THE FRONT, AROUND THE BOTTOM, ON THE POCKETS, AND CUFFS.
THE PANTS BUTTON CLOSED ON THE FRONT FLY WITH DOUBLE BUTTONS AT THE TOP WAISTBAND. POCKETS ON EACH SIDE WITH NATURAL BUTTONS ALONG THE INNER WAISTBAND.
CONDITION: THIS SUIT IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION. THERE ARE THREE FAINT BROWN STAINS ASIDE THE CROTCH WITH ONE FAINT STAIN BETWEEN THE SECOND AND THIRD BUTTON ON THE TOP RIGHT.
EACH SLEEVE WAS BASTED TO MAKE THE SLEEVE SHORTER, IT APPEARS THAT AN ADDITIONAL 3 INCHES OF LENGTH COULD BE HAD IF RELEASED.
SURPRISINGLY NO HOLES. STRONG AND WEARABLE. A WONDERFUL BOY’S ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SUIT.
