DESCRIPTION: THIS PIECE WAS ACQUIRED FROM A MUSEUM DEACCESSION
TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION. FASHIONED OF A WOOL AND COTTON BLEND IN A WONDERFUL CHECKER PLAID PATTERN.
SILK BRAID AND SILK COVERED BUTTONS TRIM DOWN EACH SIDE OF THE FRONT OF THE JACKET, ON CUFFS, AND ALONG THE REAR TAIL AS WELL AS ON THE OUTER LEG OF EACH SIDE OF THE PANTS.
POLISHED COTTON LINES BOTH PIECES. METAL BUTTONS TRIM THE WAISTLINE OF THE PANTS WITH POCKETS ON EACH SIDE AND A SMALL SLIT OPEN FLY.
CONDITION: THIS SUIT IS SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. THE BUTTONS OF THE PANTS HAVE WEAR TO THE SILK WITH SOME SMALL HOLES ON THE BOTTOM FRONT OF EACH LEG.
SIMILAR HOLES ARE SEEN ON THE REAR LEG WITH A PINHEAD HOLE ON THE FRONT LEFT THIGH.
THE JACKET HAS A FINGERTIP STAIN BETWEEN THE THIRD AND FOURTH BUTTON. THE HOOK ON THE FRONT TOP IS BROKEN AND THE EYE IS MISSING AND IN NEED OF REPLACMENT.
SUCH A WONDERFUL TWO PIECE 1870’S CHILD’S SUIT.
