Connecting Japan to the World
The Nintendo Super Famicom (Late Model / 1Chip-03) is a legendary 16-bit home video game console originally released on November 21, 1990 in Japan. This later revision features improved video output and is highly sought after by retro gaming enthusiasts.
Powered by a custom 16-bit CPU and advanced graphics and sound hardware for its era, the Super Famicom delivers rich visuals with up to 32,768 colors, advanced sprite handling, multi-layer scrolling, rotation and scaling effects, and high-quality stereo sound produced by Sony’s dedicated DSP.
Compared to the original Family Computer, the Super Famicom offers dramatically enhanced processing power for graphics and audio, enabling more immersive and expressive games.
The cartridge slot features an automatic spring-loaded shutter, and a safety lock mechanism prevents cartridge removal while the power is on. The eject mechanism is button-based, and the power indicator lamp lights during operation.
