Laminate flooring imitates the look of wood, stone or tile.
It's made from a mix of wood particles and synthetic materials that are fused
together using high pressure to create sheets. This process is called
lamination. During its construction, laminate flooring has a core layer that's
typically composed of fiberboard and resin. An image of either wood, tile or
stone is also imprinted on the top and coated with a wear protectant. The clear
film will safeguard the flooring from scratches, moisture and UV rays. Laminate
is a breeze to clean and install. The flooring is also very durable and
economical.
