DESCRIPTION: FASHIONED OF A FIGURED BLACK SILK AND IS SEWN BY BOTH HAND AND SOME EARLY MACHINE STITCHING.
EACH SIDE OF THE CHEST IS PADDED TO GIVE FULLNESS. POCKETS ARE ON EACH SIDE WITH CHEST POCKET ON THE LEFT SIDE.
SATIN COVERED BUTTONS CLOSE THE FRONT. INTERIOR IS LINED IN COTTON SATEEN WITH GLAZED COTTON BACKING AND BELTING AT THE BOTTOM WITH A BLACK ENAMELED BUCKLE.
CONDITION: A VERY SLIGHT SPOT OF WEAR SEEN ON THE BOTTOM BUTTON WITH SEVERAL SMALL SPOTS OF AGE STAINING ON THE HIGH INNER REAR BACK AND SLIGHT DISCOLORATION TO THE LINING ON THE INNER LEFT CORNER OF THE FRONT.
SUCH AN EXCEPTIONAL MUSEUM WORTHY ANTIQUE MEN’S WAIST COAT.
