You are bidding on an antique hardcover book titled

ATLAS TO THE COAL FLORA OF PENNSYLVANIA AND OF THE CARBONIFEROUS FORMATION THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES (SECOND GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF PENNSYLVANIA. REPORT OF PROGRESS, [VOL.] P).

By Lesquereux, Leo, 1806-1889.

Published by Board of Commissioners for the Second Geological Survey, Harrisburg, 1879.

This is the real deal from 1879 and not some modern reprint!

Book is profusely illustrated by two-page illustrations depicting many coal flora formations.

The book is three-quarter bound in black leather with leather tips. Has gold lettering on spine. Pages are clean and tightly bound with no foxing. Covers are firmly attached with no splitting of hinges or gutters. Has decorative endpages. Outside page edges have swirling design that matches the covers. Corner and edges show some wear. Book is in overall very good condition.

What is interesting about this book is that it has markings from once having been in the library of the Historical Society of York County.

Would make a nice addition to a collection.

Great gift idea!
