See photos. Comes from a clean nonsmoking home. In very good condition. Has John Held Jr's name on it near the bottom. Held, a Flapper and Jazz age illustrator, was very popular and well known in the 1920s and 1930s. An original engraved Art Deco printing plate signed in the design. It is a wooden-backed metal plate with a hand-chased design by Held of a woman (looking like Mae West) and man (waiter) toasting with a glass of wine or champagne. Based on research, we are declaring this print block rare. OOAK one of a kind item for and John Held collector. Found in trays from the countryside of Alamance County, North Carolina which indicated they were made by the 'Empire Type Foundry' in Delevan, New York during the nineteen teens. Seller Lot #25010-26.
