Rare set of 2 Chevrolet accessory hubcaps. These are 16" wheel covers I believe for 1947-1948. Fair used condition with many defects. Restore or use as is Rat Rod etc. Very rare, hard to find and extremely desirable. BE ADVISED THIS IS NOT A TYPO THESE CAPS ARE 16" SIXTEEN INCH .

DUE TO A NUMBER OF RECENT INQUIRIES FALSELY THINKING THESE ARE NOT 16" WE HAVE ADDED THE ADDITIONAL PICTURES TO HELP CLEAR UP ANY CONFUSION. THE MOST OBVIOUS IS 1953 CHEVY CAP WHICH IS A KNOWN 15" SIDE BY SIDE WITH A 16" CAP FROM THIS LISTING. YOU WILL SEE THE 1948 IS LARGER .ALSO PICTURED IS A CHEVY 15" RIM SHOWING HOW THE 15" CHEVY CAP WILL FIT BUT THE 1948 WILL NOT. MANY PEOPLE ON THIS SITE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MEASURE WHEELS OR HUBCAPS. THE TEETH ON A FULL SIZE WHEEL COVER WILL NORMALLY HAVE A DIAMETER OF APPX 1/2" -3/4" LESS THEN THE WHEEL IT FITS . FOR EXAMPLE, A 16" CAP WILL MEASURE APPX 15 1/2". A 15 CAP WILL MEASURE 14 1/2" . A 14" CAP WILL MEASURE 13 1/2" . ETC. ETC. REMEMBER THE TEETH HAVE TO INSTALL ON THE INNER LIP OF THE RIM . THE RIM SHOWN IN THE PICTURE IS A 15" BUT IF YOU MEASURE THE OVERALL DIAMETER IT IS 16" . THIS MEASURMENT MEANS NOTHING AND IS NOT THE RIM SIZE SINCE THE BEAD OF THE TIRE MOUNTS ON THE INSIDE LIP. WE KNOW THIS IS LONG WINDED BUT HUBCAPS CAN BE CONFUSING IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT. THIS IS A GENERAL RULE OF THUMB AND THERE WILL BE EXCEPTIONS . WE HAVE BEEN IN THE HUBCAP BUSINESS OVER 45 YEARS AND HAVE ALOT OF EXPERINCE IN THIS AREA. AGAIN THE CAPS IN THIS LISTING ARE 16" CAPS IN THIS LISTING ARE 16" CAPS IN THIS LISTING ARE 16" .
