Well Cast Antique Bronze French Gothic Mantle Clock
Nicely cast brass or bronze clock by top French clock maker 'Gougin'. This Gothic styled clock is signed on the movement. It has a bell and key which may not be the original.
The dial is enamel and looks ok with a patterned centre and finely detailed hands (they are rusty but should clean up well). There is no glass on this clock.
The movement has a count wheel escapement and the bell rings well. When the hands are manually rotated it attempts to strike, however the hammer was missing but I had part of one in stock which can be adapted. The springs are good and fully wind.
This is a quality Gothick style clock by a top French maker and is sold as seen and offered for restoration with no guarantees and returns. Please view all the photos as they form part of the description. A very nice period clock that should restore well
