Antique French Ormolu Mantle Clock With Blue Panels
Top quality and impressive French Gilt bronze mantle clock. The case has a cherub holding a birds nest in one hand. The other hand may have held something else at one point (see photos)?
Measures 12in x 8.75in high
The dial is flaking and may have been restored? Nice fine hands which look like brass? The 8 day french movement has a silk suspension and a count wheel escapement. The pendulum and winding key are present. Both springs are good and fully wound.
This is a very impressive clock which is very nicely cast and an early silk 8 day French clock that is sold as seen, incomplete and offered for full restoration with no guarantees and returns.
