This sale is for a 1927 asparagus promotional poster. The poster is a whopping 32 inches tall by 22 inches wide. It features 4 magazine ads being run in women's magazines by the asparagus growers group. These days asparagus is the favorite vegetable of many folks and even shows up in stir frys and other recipes. But 98 years ago it still had to be marketed to a skeptical (?) eating public. My guess is that the womenfolk were delighted to have something new to put on their dinner tables.
