The eBay price is for a valve job, not for a cylinder head. When you place an order, we pull a core from our inventory, perform a valve job on it, and ship it to you. We need your old part — called a core — returned to us to replenish our inventory. That's the exchange.
Core Exchange Eligibility
How core exchange works: when you send a head to your local machine shop, you pay for whatever repairs your specific head requires. Our core exchange works the same way — instead of sending your head in for service, you’re exchanging it for one we’ve already rebuilt. The deposit is used to cover the cost of any repairs your core needs beyond a standard valve job, so we can bring it back into our inventory. If your core doesn’t meet our acceptance criteria, the deposit is retained and applied toward sourcing a replacement — because a core that can’t be rebuilt still has to be replaced.
•- Cores must be free of cracks, rust, combustion chamber damage, and warpage beyond .003". Cores missing critical components will not be accepted.
•- Your deposit is refunded after inspection, less the cost of any repairs required — e.g. replacing a burned valve, repairing a dropped seat. Each defect reduces your refund by our actual repair cost.
•- Not sure what your core is worth? Send us photos and a description before exchanging — we’re happy to estimate.
•- Cores must be returned within 14 days of receiving your product. Late returns incur a $50 fee.

Components & Parts
We use OEM parts. When unavailable, we substitute new or reliable aftermarket parts: carriers, camshafts, bearings, guides, valves, springs, rockers, shims, seats, freeze plugs. We always install new valve stem seals.
All heads are assembled and ready to install.
Repairs Included
Stripped plug threads, broken mounting bosses, loose freeze plugs, and more — fixed before assembly, not passed on to you.
What's Not Included
We don't sell electrical components — no spark plugs, coils, sensors, VVT solenoids, or timing chains. VVT/VANOS sprockets are not included unless requested at time of purchase. Some applications require additional seals or gaskets available in a top-end gasket set from your supplier. Some heads require a final valve adjustment, priming hydraulic lifters, or setting the timing.
A Note on Appearance
Remanufactured components may have minor visual imperfections or blemishes. Every head is guaranteed to function normally throughout the warranty period and beyond when properly installed and maintained.
