When the new Modular 10264 Corner Garage appeared in 2019, the opinions in the Lego community were very different. On the one hand, it was nice to finally see a gas station with a garage integrated into Modular Town, but to many the released model seemed partly unfinished and too small. The 10264 Corner Garage provided a good base, but lacked the final kick. So a conversion was needed.
This model was created in cooperation of two enthusiasts who had the same goal: to expand and perfect this very interesting model.
The basic model of this conversion was supplied by one of the most creative Lego artists in the German Lego scene: DERBOOR. Further conversions and additions were contributed by HERR KNUT (PimpDaBricks) to deliver an impressive and coherent overall package. A true eye-catcher.
The floor space was doubled from 32x32 to a total of 32x64. As a result, the groundfloor of the Big (Corner) Garage now offers enough space for two garages: one for cars and another specifically for motorcycles. These two garages can be accessed separately. Furthermore, a separate sales area was added to the groundfloor. The expanded floor space also created enough room for two gas pumps at the gas station. Now even more Lego Town residents have a perfect place to go for their vehicles.
The 1st floor of the building continues to house Dr. Jones' veterinary practice. Due to high demand from town residents and his successful work as a veterinarian since 2019, he was also able to expand his practice. It was the right decision and residents are grateful.
His professional success also allowed him to move to a larger apartment on the 2nd floor. Here he has enough space to relax from his daily work routine. A loft-like living- and sleeping area, as well as a modern kitchen invite you to relax.
On the 3rd floor of the building there is another apartment, which is directly connected to Dr. Jones' apartment. He uses this apartment from time to time himself or leaves it to his friends and relatives to stay. Especially in the summer time this apartment is very popular not only because of its two roof terraces.
As a result, the Big (Corner) Garage now looks coherent and balanced and integrates perfectly into the Lego Town and would not like to be missed by any of the townspeople.
The overall model consists of a total of 4,897 parts. Two basic sets of the 10264 Corner Garage are required for this plus 1,207 additional parts. The additional parts needed can be taken from your own brick collection as usual or purchased through the usual channels.
