This is a Lovely unique Mayo Bowl. It would have been used with a plate about 6" wide. There is also a Finger bowl that is similar in size but it has more straight sides and not cupped inward like this top rim.
This is signed with the Libbey signature.
Measures: 4-1/2" wide by 2-1/2" tall.
This is seen in the red cover Libbey catalog. Documented Early pattern that collectors love called "Stratford" Amazing hobstars and fine work in early Libbey style.
(It is from the American brilliant period, from 1870-1920) but this pattern was cut in the earlier years around 1890's to 1900.
Condition: This is over 120 years old. It is amazing that it still has all of the teeth intact due to age and how fine cut some of them are. I only found a few tiny micro contact nips on the inside of the rim that do not change the shape of the teeth. This is in fabulous shape for the age and how delicate the rim was cut. Outside looks pretty good too for being fully cur all the way around and cupped shape- only found a few tiny contact nips that no one will ever see. It is about as good as they get these days.
