Born in Connecticut, USA in 1908. George Nelson, an architect, graphic designer and interior planner, has been appointed director of Herman Miller for about 20 years. He discovered the talents of Eames and his wife and Isamu Noguchi, and made a major contribution to the design world. He himself also released the masterpieces “Ball Clock”, “Sunburst Clock” and “Coconut Chair”. He worked on several furniture designs for Herman Miller and was one of the leading figures in creating mid-century modern design
