Osamu Mihara 三原
(1911-1984)
Mihara is in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
He was born on Shikoku Island, and attended Waseda University.
while at Waseda, he played on the Japanese All Star Team that went up against the US All Stars in 1934.
He was the first player ever signed by the Tokyo Giants, making him the first professional player in Japan.
He only played three seasons with the team, before going into the Military for the next eight years.
Overall, Mihara played Pro Ball from 1936-1938, and managed from 1947-1973.
Over his 26 seasons as a manager, he had a .537 Win %, and leads in many categories.
Mihara was inducted in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
