Antique KPM porcelain jug with the underglaze blue scepter mark used between 1870–1945.
Designed in the Wagner / Bayreuth Festival German Romantic Revival style (circa 1880–1910).
Porcelain body is translucent when held to the light.
Decorated in cobalt with a raised bearded man face on the side of the neck. Bartmann, Green Man, Bacchus style.
Hand painted details and fired underglaze.
Heavy, thick-walled piece with cobalt scrollwork around the neck and body.
Base shows the hand-applied scepter mark in blue.
Approx. size: 16.5 inch high x 8" wide x 8" deep.
Weight is 6 pounds and 10 ounces.
Condition: made of solid porcelain with no cracks. There is a chip on the rim that had been colored.
