Here we have a superb 19th Century oil on canvas by French artist Gustave-Henri Colin, 1828-1910. The painting features a wonderful colourful riverbank in summer surrounded by trees. The artist has captured the suns rays cascading through the woodland to shimmer on the surface of the water. The artist has signed it lower right G Colin. Gustave-Henri Colin an artist from the school of Barbizon and Impressionism generally painted portraits, landscapes and exhibited at the Salon des Refusés. A delightful painting that would grace any wall in your home.
