The following description is proudly written by me without the aid of eBay’s new “AI” feature (that’s ‘Artificial Intelligence’ for those of you [and me] old enough to remember manual typewriters)
This is a great looking nice condition 1959 Bazooka Bubble Gum Football card featuring Cleveland Browns All-Pro running back, Hall of Famer and Hollywood movie star Jim “Jimmy” Brown.
Graded and encapsulated in a larger holder by PSA, receiving a grade of VG 3. That might not sound very good but looking at PSA’s Population Report, there have been only a grand total of 27 of these ‘59 Bazooka Jim Brown cards submitted and encapsulated. Ever. That’s not a whole lot. And 20 of them only received a grade of “Authentic”, mostly because of these cards being hand cut. The rest: three 3’s(including this one), two 5’s and one each 6 and 7(see the three screenshots of the Population Report I included above).
To say this year’s Bazooka cards are hard to find is a major understatement. To find them in nice condition is even tougher, and Jim Brown is one of the keys to this small 18 card set.
These cards had to be cut from boxes of Bazooka bubble gum. Picture little Johnny at the kitchen table, using those children’s scissors like we had in kindergarten, concentrating on the dotted lines and doing his very best. Well, crappy scissors and an inpatient Johnny made for some rough versions of these cards.
Card measures 2 13/16” by 5” inches tall, unnumbered with a blank back.
Card is in nice and clean VG condition with a clean issue-free back, nice corners, no bends or creases and fairly good cutting along the dotted lines, overall nothing really bad at all. The only issue I see is a small surface scuff mark right above the Browns logo. The plastic holder is perfect with no scratches.
Please see photos for condition (taken with and without flash) and feel free to ask any questions prior to buying.
Shipping will be FREE, with a Signature Confirmation.
Coming from a smoke and pet free home.
Returns accepted ONLY if item is not exactly as described or if it arrives damaged.
Thanks for looking.
THE FINE PRINT:
OFFERS: I don’t accept offers during a running auction, no matter how tempting, letting them run their course. I still believe in fair authentic auctions, even if eBay doesn’t.
For " Buy It Now" listings if I don't respond to an offer it means I didn't feel it was reasonable. I'm not going to dicker back and forth. I will accept a reasonable offer when I receive one.
eBay has sneaky ways now to change listings to accept offers if you’re not paying attention, even after knowingly listing something not entertaining offers. One way for you to tell if my listing has been hijacked is if you’re able to offer me half of what I’m asking. It’s really gotten ridiculous. In these cases I will only respond to reasonable offers, and asking me to sell something for half what I’m asking is insulting.
SHIPPING: Most everything I ship I send out via USPS with a Tracking Number, even for items like low value trading cards. I like having proof of mailing and delivery. You should too.
COMBINED SHIPPING: I will gladly combine shipping on multiple purchases, usually at no additional costs, unless the weight of the package increases the shipping amount significantly. Just request an updated invoice prior to purchase, otherwise I will refund through PayPal any shipping overcharges incurred at checkout.
FEEDBACK: Appreciative feedback will be reciprocated after the transaction is completed, and after I know you’ve received it to your hopeful satisfaction. If I can take the time to leave you a feedback, common courtesy asks for you to do the same. It’s only fair and only takes a second. And PLEASE let me know if there are any issues, giving me a chance to rectify any problems beforehand.
MAHALO!
