Overview
This mount allows you to attach your Garmin Varia (RTL515 or older) radar light underneath a compatible Specialized SWAT saddle, making for a very clean and aesthetically pleasing installation. It holds your device securely behind your saddle, positioned vertically, to reliably detect traffic coming from behind.

This version mount has a 20mm offset compared with our standard MagCAD Garmin Varia Specialized SWAT Saddle Mount. This adds some clearance for a small saddle bag or other saddle mounted accessories.

The Specialized SWAT saddle system introduces 2x M5 threaded inserts to the underside of the saddle allowing various items to be attached. We see quite a large variation between saddles with the SWAT system. Although we've trialed the mount with many saddles already there may be the odd SWAT saddle and Varia combination that is not compatible. If in doubt feel free to get in contact.

This mount has a 10 degree twist to hold your Varia vertically with your saddle level. If you have your saddle tilted forward and want the angle of the mount increased to compensate custom mounts can be printed in around 2-3 weeks.

A lanyard has been added to the design of the MagCAD mount as the Garmin Varia radar light itself has no loop to attach one. The lanyard adds an extra layer of security to cover the risk of mis-assembly or damage in a crash.

Please be aware, this MagCAD mount is compatible with Garmin Varia radar lights up to the RTL515/516. It is not compatible with the new Varia RCT715 radar/camera.

​Application
To attach the mount simply bolt to the underside of your saddle with 2x M5x16mm button head screws, supplied. The Garmin Varia is attached with a simple quarter-turn motion, just like the OEM Varia seat post mount.

Material
MagCAD Mounts are 3D printed in Nylon PA12. However these are not your typical home 3D printers. Following a process of SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) on industrial size printers, costing anything above £100k, the resulting mounts have fantastic resolution and refinement. The surface finish is slightly rough with a matte effect and the performance of the mounts are comparable to injection moulded parts.
