You are buying a set of eight (8) authentic, antique
Cauldon Ltd. 'H9859' luncheon plates
dating, approximately, from
1904 to 1920.
These elegant, scallop-rimmed, ivory-toned porcelain luncheon plates were decorated for Gilman Collamore & Co. with
brightly hand-painted wildflowers entwined with green ribbon.
The edges, verges and ribbons are trimmed with glistening, 22k gold.
The bottoms are labeled with a Cauldon England maker's mark, the 'H9859' pattern number and a "Gilman Collamore & Co. 5th Avenue & 30th St. New York" decorator's mark.
Brown-Westhead Moore & Co. was incorporated in 1904 as a Limited company and was renamed to Cauldon (Brown-Westhead Moore & Co.) Ltd.
The company was placed into receivership in 1920. It, later, was brought out of administration and became Cauldon Potteries Ltd.
Gilman Collamore & Co. was a china and glassware importing firm that operated at New York's Fifth Avenue and 30th Street from 1890 to approximately 1920.
Each plate measures approximately
8-7/8
inches in diameter.
These century-old plates are in
EXCELLENT
condition. The colors are bright, and the details are distinct. The finish is lustrous.
There are no chips, cracks, crazing, breaks or repairs.
Please note:
most of the gold is glossy and complete, however, there are a few spots where the gold is slightly worn or tarnished.
