This is a coffee pot made by a Mexican company called Vitrocrisa. Vitrocrisa opened its doors with its first manufacturing location in 1956 in Moneterrey, Mexico. The company acquired Cristales Mexicanos and in 1987 opened a new warehouse and packaging center. In 1997, Libbey Inc. acquired the 49% of Vitrocrisa and obtained full ownership in 2006.The company produced glassware like custard cups, bowls, tableware, casseroles and other kitchenware - many of which were similar to Pyrex and other companies, and some marked “Pyr-o-Rey”. They did have some sort of relationship with Corning early on, but in the 2000s Corning brought a successful lawsuit against them for infringement. Vitrocrisa claimed that the “Pyr-o-Rey” name came from “Monterrey”, the company’s location.
