This is a charming Florence Ceramics bud vase featuring a boy--looks to be mid-century modern stylized Chinese/Asian in green and off white. There is a dynamic swing to his outfit and his face has nice rosy cheeks. He stands about 8" tall.
Condition: colors are great. No cracks but there are two chips--one on the edge of his cloak and one right below it. There are photos included of these flaws and the piece is priced according to this damage.
There is no bottom stamp on this piece. I recognize that Florence Ceramics did struggle against cheap imitations, like so many other ceramics companies. I have found a listing with a boy painted in this same coloring--and the green is a distinct and unusual shade. That piece DOES have the stamp on the base for Florence so I do believe this to be from that company and not a copycat manufacturer. Florence made figurines from 1942-1966-ish when it was bought by Scripto, who continued making some products until 1977.
This figurine came in a pair with a matching girl--maybe you have his match?
