One Box. Four Grits. Everything Your Angle Grinder Needs From Rough to Ready.

Angle grinder work rarely stays at one grit for a whole job. Weld removal calls for 40. Blending the heat discoloration and rough grinding marks calls for 60. Smoothing down to a clean, consistent surface calls for 80. Pre-coat or pre-polish finishing calls for 120. The POWERTEC 11100 puts all four stages in a single box — a 10-disc assortment of 4-1/2" T29 Zirconia Alumina flap discs with a 7/8" arbor, weighted toward the stages where most of the work actually happens. One purchase covers your whole progression without managing four separate orders.

Built with Zirconia Alumina abrasive on a fiberglass backing plate, each disc combines the self-sharpening performance of Zirc grain with the vibration-dampening stability of a rigid fiberglass hub — the disc maintains consistent surface contact without flexing or chattering under load. The T29 angled flap design gives you superior access to edges, corners, inside radiuses, and contoured surfaces that a flat T27 disc can't reach effectively. Rated to 13,000 RPM — compatible with standard 4-1/2" angle grinders.

Exactly What's in the Box

40 Grit Extra Coarse Weld removal, heavy rust, paint stripping, rapid stock removal — the heaviest-duty stage
60 Grit Coarse Weld blending, heat discoloration removal, general grinding and stock removal on metal
80 Grit Medium Surface refinement after grinding, removing 60-grit scratch pattern, pre-coat smoothing
120 Grit Medium-Fine Final surface prep before painting or coating — removes 80-grit marks, produces a clean satin finish
Why the Pack Is Weighted Toward Coarser Grits

The 4×40 / 3×60 weighting reflects how angle grinder work actually breaks down. Aggressive removal — weld grinding, rust stripping, paint removal — eats through discs faster and takes more passes than the refinement stages. You'll go through two or three 40-grit discs on a heavy weld job before you ever reach for the 80. The assortment ratio matches that reality. If you find yourself burning through a particular grit faster, the single-grit packs (11101 for 40 grit, 11102 for 60 grit) let you restock the stage you use most without buying another full assortment.

T29 Type — Why the Angle Matters

◆ T29 Conical / Angled (This Product)
  • Angled flap orientation — flaps are set at a conical angle rather than flat, directing grinding force into the workpiece more aggressively
  • Superior access to edges, bevels, inside corners, and contoured surfaces — reaches where flat discs can't maintain full contact
  • Used at a 15–30° angle to the workpiece for maximum material removal and edge access
  • Preferred for weld grinding, edge work, bevel prep, and contour blending
T27 Flat Design (Standard)
  • Flat flap orientation — discs lay parallel to the backing plate
  • Better for flat surface work — consistent contact across a wide surface area
  • Used nearly parallel to the workpiece surface
  • Less effective on edges, corners, and contoured profiles

What Makes These Discs Last

Zirconia Alumina Grain

Self-sharpening abrasive fractures under pressure to expose fresh cutting edges — maintains aggressive cutting performance far longer than standard aluminum oxide discs on metal and stainless steel.

🧱
Fiberglass Backing Plate

Rigid fiberglass hub resists vibration and flexing during grinding — delivers a stable, consistent contact surface that doesn't contaminate the workpiece with residue during use.

🔄
T29 Angled Flap Design

Conical orientation of abrasive flaps provides superior access to edges, inside corners, and contoured profiles — designed for the specific geometry of edge and weld work where flat discs fall short.

Key Product Benefits:
  • 4-Grit Assortment — Complete Progression: 40, 60, 80, and 120 grit in one pack — covers every stage from heavy weld grinding through pre-coat surface prep without managing separate orders.
  • Pack Weighted for Real Use: 4×40 and 3×60 reflect where angle grinder work is most intensive — aggressive removal stages burn through discs faster and the pack ratio accounts for that.
  • T29 Conical Design: Angled flap orientation for superior access to edges, bevels, inside corners, and contoured surfaces — preferred for weld work, edge grinding, and bevel prep.
  • Zirconia Alumina Grain: Self-sharpening abrasive outlasts standard aluminum oxide on metal and stainless steel — delivers consistent cutting performance deeper into disc life.
  • Fiberglass Backing: Rigid, vibration-dampening fiberglass hub maintains stable surface contact and won't leave contaminating residue on the workpiece.
  • 4-1/2" × 7/8" Arbor — 13,000 RPM: Standard size and arbor for 4-1/2" angle grinders — direct fit, no adapters required. Rated for full grinder operating speed.
PRO TIP: On a T29 flap disc, work at 15–30° to the surface — not flat like a grinding wheel. Flat contact with a T29 kills the disc fast and puts uneven wear on the flaps. The angled attack angle is what gives the T29 its edge access advantage and keeps flaps wearing evenly across the full disc face.
