SUNDAY THIRD PAGE COMIC STRIPS

The BRENDA STARR comic strip, created and originally written and illustrated 

by Dale Messick, was in print from 1940 to 2011.  Messick semi-retired from the 

strip in 1980 and Ramona Fradon picked up the art chores.  Messick continued

 to script BRENDA for another two years.  Her writing replacement, Linda Sutter, 

came on board in 1982 and stayed until 1985.  Sutter was replaced by Mary Schmich. 

Fradon retired in 1995 and was replaced by June Brigman, who remained

 as artist to the conclusion of the series.
