High solar DC input voltage enables low current transmission to achieve same high wattage, hence thinner gauge wires can be used. Besides lowering cost, this also lowered fire risks. Similarly, high AC output at 240Vac instead of 120Vac, have similar advantages mentioned for DC.

Solar Optimization: This inverter has MPPT function to optimize/maximize solar panels generated energy. In contrast some competitive inverters, eg, SolarEdge, requires EACH PANEL to have an optimizer. This raise system cost by about $50/panel, depending on the model. In other words, this inverter centralized the MPPT function into itself in contrast to other competitors' inverters which require the MPPT function be delegated to each solar panel's optimizer. Moreover, some of these competitors gridtie' inverters will not work (e.g. SolarEdge) without an optimizer attached to each panel. You would need to remove your optimizers if you want to connect an off-grid inverter to your solar array later. This inverter does not need optimizer to start with.

Advantages over competitors:

  • Using one of this inverter, your wiring decides types of output, either 120Vac or 240Vac. Compeitors would required two of their units to achieve 240Vac, raising system cost and points of failure.
  • MPPT is centralized in this inverter.You do not need an optimizer for each solar panel, e.g, SolarEdge inverters won't work without optimizer at each panel, which raises cost. Having an optimizer at each panel will prevent subsequent use of off-grid inverters with the panel array.
  • Built-in DC Control Switch (may be at side or bottom of chasis)
  • Future proof your lower wattage inverter, eg, 1000W to be upgraded to 6000W. This inverter will future proof your lower-wattage system, lowering total system cost over time.
  • Wifi monitoring of current and historical power generated. Not all competitors' inverter has this feaure.
  • Better heat dissipation and waterproofing, achieiving IP65 level.
  • Simple installation: Solar in and AC-out, plus hanging unit to structure.
