Product Description
Louise is a strictly European phenomenon, a British dance-pop starlet that rose to stardom through pin-up photos in English magazines. Her looks were as key to her stardom as her music, which was well-produced but unexceptional dance-pop. Despite its shortcomings, Naked did have a couple strong singles and its followup, The Woman In Me, follows the same pattern. There's dance numbers and big ballads, all professionally performed and crafted. The Woman in Me doesn't offer anything outstanding but it does offer a set of finely-crafted mainstream pop with a handful of singles that have naggingly catchy melodies balanced by inoffensive filler. It's not as charimatic or ingratiating as the Spice Girls, but it has charms of its own. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
