This is an early G. F. Filley No 11 baking gem pan. This foundry produced cast iron cookware from the 1860 to the 1900s. They produced a series of 12 gem pans each with a very unique design. These pans were produced from 1880 to the 1920s. There is a pin size hole in one of the cups (see photos). No cracks, chips, or repairs.
This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye
bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all
residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly
seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed
in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting
conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal
light. Photos are part of the item’s description. Please use them for a clearer
understanding of items’ overall condition. If you have any questions, please
let me know.
