TARZAN
SUNDAY THIRD PAGE COMIC STRIPS

The TARZAN comic strip, based on the
novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs,
has been in print since January 1929. It debuted as a
daily strip by
Harold Foster which adapted the early TARZAN novels. The
distributor,
United Features Syndicate, added a full page Sunday strip, drawn
by
Rex Maxon, in 1931. Other artists who have contributed
to this strip include
Burne Hogarth, Ruben Moreira, Dan Darry, Paul Reinman, Bob
Lubbers,
John Celardo, Russ Manning, Gil Kane, Mike Grell, Gray Morrow,
Thomas Yeates
and Eric Battle. Both dailies and Sunday strips are
currently
running as reprints of earlier stories.
