This is as early Erie/Griswold No 5 baking gem pan. There are a number of versions of this pan and this appears to be a version 4 (per Haussler, Schiffer Publishing, 1997). This pan was probably cast late 1910s. No cracks, chips, or repairs.
This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye
bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all
residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly
seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed
in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting
conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal
light. Photos are part of the item’s description. Please use them for a clearer
understanding of items’ overall condition. If you have any questions, please
let me know.
