Overview
This MagCAD headset kit has been a popular request for those wishing to mount the Roval Rapide integrated cockpit to their 1st generation Specialized Aethos (2020-2025) road bike.

This remodelled headset bearing cover and spacers link the integrated design of the Roval Rapide handlebars to the more rounded shape of the 1st generation Specialized Aethos (2020-2025), improving aesthetics and allowing the use of an integrated computer mount out front for a super clean cockpit.

The 1st generation Aethos (2020-2025) has external cables, as standard. Therefore this headset kit does not have any provision for internal cable routing. This headset kit is not compatible with the 2nd generation Specialized Aethos (2026-).

​Application
All MagCAD headset parts are 3D printed in a durable Nylon to ensure they are robust to many years of use. As with any steering related components they should be installed by a competent mechanic and inspected regularly. Incorrect assembly or mis-use may result in damage to the headset components.

The complete headset kit has a total stack height of 34mm, including the "top" Roval Rapide spacer. This remains within the maximum recommended headset stack height by Specialized and covers most riders needs.

The minimum stack height, for a "slammed" setup, is 9mm from top of the split compression ring to underside of the Roval Rapide handlebars. See our CAD drawing for more information.

The gap between bearing cover and frame has been carefully refined to minimise water ingress whilst covering variations in split ring dimensions supplied by Specialized. Extra care should be taken to ensure the top bearing cover does not contact the frame once fitted and under compression. 1-1/8 headset shims (not supplied) can be used to increase the gap, if required.

Additional 10mm and 5mm spacers can be purchased separately should they be required.

Material
MagCAD Mounts are 3D printed in Nylon PA12. However these are not your typical home 3D printers. Following a process of SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) on industrial size printers, costing anything above £100k, the resulting mounts have fantastic resolution and refinement. The surface finish is slightly rough with a matte effect and the performance of the mounts are comparable to injection moulded parts.
