UNUSUAL ANTIQUE ENGLISH SILVERED VIOLIN CASE VESTA / MATCH SAFE c1900
An unusual antique English, silvered metal vesta / matchsafe; modelled as a violin case, with engraved 'fittings' detail, tiny hinged handle and striker to its hinged lid. An unusual variant - extremely collectable!
CONDITION: All original and very good. Silver finish worn commensurate with age and use. DEFECTS: None. DATE/MARKS: Around 1900. Not marked. DIMENSIONS: 46 mm long (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter. WEIGHT: Approx. 14.6 grams.
