Vintage Japan Ceramic Spill Vase Young Child Sitting On A Tree Stump With Flower Bell Reading
This ceramic hand painted spill vase was created in Japan during the early to mid 20th century. It depicts a young blonde child in patched overalls reading a book while sitting on a tree stump. The tree has a hanging flower designed as a bell. The bell ringer has a gold chain attached. The piece has been hand painted with artistic flair. It has gold raised spaghetti trim detail and a glossy glaze.
Measures ~ 6 1/2" H x 3 1/4" W x 3 " L
It is in good vintage condition. The flower bell has a section that appears to be missing near the child's raised arm. There is uncertainty as to if this item was made this way or if there is an actual piece missing. The edges are smooth and the flower bell appears more natural looking with this possible flaw. It also seems that the bell would hit the child's arm if intact. Please view the last photograph. Should this be perceived as a flaw, the flower bell can be turned in any direction or removed at the buyer's discretion. The colors are bright. The glaze is glossy. Please view all the photographs.
