1980 Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Houston Oilers RARE Ticket Stub (AFC Championship-Three Rivers Stadium)
Up for 'BUY IT NOW' is a rare original ticket stub from the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Houston Oilers AFC Championship NFL game which took place at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA back on January 6, 1980. The Steelers finished the 1979 regular season tied with an NFL best 12-4 record while the Oilers finished at 11-5. Bennie Cunningham, Rocky Bleier, and John Stallworth all scored touchdowns and the Steelers won this contest by a score of 27-13.
This game was filled with controversy as what looked like a 4th quarter touchdown by Oilers' receiver Mike Renfro was ruled incomplete by the officials. This would've tied the game. The Oilers settled for a field goal instead. Nevertheless, the Steelers scored on their next 2 possessions to seal the win. The Steelers would then go on to defeat Los Angeles in Super Bowl XIV two weeks later. Not accepting offers on this item.
