The Scottish Borders (with Galloway) to 1603, published by Johnston & Bacon, Edinburgh and London in 1967, by W R Kenmack and illustrations by H J Roper.

A short history of the Borders through the Middle Ages - the rise and the fall of the black Douglases, principal clans and surnames, the castles and abbey. A small compact pocket history which can serve perfectly as an introduction to understanding this area of Scotland.

Very good hardback red cloth covers with gilt lettering. Internal, no sign of foxing, binding is tight and pages clean and bright. Dust wrapper is in good condition, not price clipped. There are some very small tears along the top edges, with an area of very light yellowing on spine.
