Haviland &co. Clover Leaf sz-8.5" Set-4 Luncheon Plates Limoges France Schleiger #98
American David Haviland was a New York-based importer/exporter who recognized the quality of French porcelains and wished to import them for an American clientele.He has two sons. Both brothers in one location proved to be too much for either and they decided to dissolve their partnership in 1891. Charles Edward Haviland continued with the business-Haviland &co. and Theodore Haviland opened his own business, Theodore Haviland, Limoges, in 1893.
Offered are Haviland Limoges France set of 4 LUNCHEON PLATES in Schleiger 98 - "Clover Leaf". The pattern features a border design of clover leaves accented with red berries. The plates have a solid gold edge. They measure 8.5 " in diameter. There are no chips, cracks or crazing, the gold edges are in very good condition. There are two marks - the green Haviland France; the brick red mark is Haviland & Co. Limoges.
