Item:  Vintage Biller 1938 German Lithographed Tin 35 Anti Aircraft Mountain with Clockwork Gun Wind-up Military Toy one Metalic and one Red Aircraft. The "An anti-aircraft cannon fires at a circling plane and forces it to land " game was introduced and patented by Hans Biller in 1938.

This is the first toy with Bühler clockwork.

Two aircraft are attached to unequal-length poles which revolve on a clockwork mechanism contained in the mountain. When the clockwork mechanism is wound up and released, centrifugal force enables the planes to fly at the same altitude even though the poles are unequal in length. When the AA-gun is "fired" the clockwork mechanism stops, and the plane on the longer pole appears to be "shot down" because it is pulled down by gravity.

The game is in its original box.

The box contains:

A two aircraft.

A wire poles.

The mountain - with clockwork.

The cannon - lithographed the same on both sides.

The wind-up key is there.

Dimensions on te mountain: 4.61 x 4.41 x 2.01 inches, 11.7 x 11.2 x 5.1 centimeters.

Dimensions on the gun: 4.33 x 2.95 x 2.09 inches, 11  7.5 x 5.3 centimeters.

Dimensions on the aircraft: 3.54 x 2.68 inches, 9 x 6.8 centimeters.

Total length on the poles: 14.57 inches, 37 centimeters.

Condition:

Attention!

One of the closing tin plates on the bottom was broken during unfolding and folding for open for checking of the mechanism. It has been fixed and glued with adhesive from the previous owner who informed me about this.

The other tin plates are also glued to prevent them from being broken and lost. Please see photo 9th circled in red.

There are normal traces of use.

There are small scratches visible with a magnifier.

The mechanism winds and rotates.

The cannon is loaded and fired and after firing, the rotation stops.

But we can't guarantee that it works well due to age.

This item is in good used condition.

The cardboard box has crushed areas.
