Werner VIII of Alvensleben (1802 - 1877) was a Prussian lieutenant general.
1848 Major, 1850 as a battalion commander to the Kaiser-Alexander Grenadier Regiment No. 1, 1853 Lieutenant Colonel.
1857 appointed commander of Wittenberg and in 1860 as commander to Wesel, in 1861 as such to Poznan;
here 1861 Major General, 1865 lieutenant general.
