Gustav von Alvensleben (1803 - 1881) was a Prussian general of the infantry.
Alvensleben has been head of the VIII general staff since 1850. Army corps and four years later he became the military gout
used by the Rhine province and Westphalia. In 1855 he was promoted to Colonel, in 1858 to Major General and served
three years later with the Prince of Prussia. In 1861 he came to King of Prussia as a general adjutant. On February 8, 1863,
he closed the Alvensleben Convention with Russia named after him as a Prussian Adjutant of General.
In 1865 he became lieutenant general.
In the Prussian-Austrian War in 1866, he served at the king's headquarters and took command on October 30 on the IV.
Army corps. In 1868 Alvensleben became general of the infantry. In the Franco-German War in 1870/71 he took over the IV.
Army Corps and led it in the battles of Beaumont and Sedan. The corps and he also moved against Paris.
For his services to this war, he received a doping of 100,000 talers.
