The Sony Alpha 16-105mm zoom
lens is an excellent design that is of both excellent build and optical
characteristics. It is definitely one of Sony’s” prosumer” grade lenses and began
production in 2007. It is a big step up over the standard kit lens for many
reasons and at this price I doubt you could do any better while capturing both
wide angles and medium telephoto.
Build is very nice with
modern Sony styling and a stainless-steel lens mount. Rubber grips are clean
and appear new.
This lens (S/N 18119xx) in mint
condition with no wear to the lens cosmetics or enamel, even under
close inspection. It looks unused, in new condition. The caps and hood look great, just a few minor scuffs on the
hood.
There are no marks to the
pristine glass. There is no dust, haze or fungus to report. Aperture blades are
snappy and everything else about the lens is in perfect working condition. Zoom
action is deliberate like a new lens and focus is smooth. The wide ribbed
rubber grips look and feel great.
This lens has a very short
MFD of just 40cm (about 15”). Add internal focus (IF) for easy polarizer use
and you can see that Sony really designed a winner at a reasonable price point
with this lens. It is the perfect aps-c standard zoom and mirrors the focal
length of my Sony 24-70mm Zeiss lens on full frame, which I take probably 80%
of my shots with.
Included
are an original petal hood and Sony front and rear lens caps.
