London: Warner Brothers, 1972. 1st Edition. Oblong quarto, publisher's stapled stiff paper wraps.
Scarce tour program for the San Francisco rock band’s series of four performances at London’s Lyceum Theater in 1972. The final venue of the Dead’s first European tour and the penultimate performance featuring founding member Ron "Pigpen" McKernan as a lead vocalist, the show was the poignant pinnacle to his career as he passed away in March the following year. Holding a significant place in Dead history, the Lyceum shows' recordings compose a majority of their live triple album Europe ‘72 , including the entirety of the final LP on the last night on the tour, which was originally released in November that year. This program comprises a list of the tour’s band and crew members, a history of the band, a biography of each member, and information on the tour. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photos.
The famous 32-page British tour book from 1972, featuring an all-black front and back cover.
It was given away free at the Lyceum (London, England) shows in May 1972 during the Europe "72 tour.
In excellent Vintage condition, presents with bumping at upper (l) corner and concentric wrinkling at same corner. ( I think one can iron this out).
Else, EXCELLENT. No water damage, cover and back very good!
No writing, interior pages bright and clean. Stapled Binding is excellent.
