A token of regard from ? ? Thomas (I can't make out the other words)

with a verse from John 5.39 

The Black leather bounding needs some restoration

Altogether a very good book, given its age. The illustrations are perfectly intact

I have tried to look up Benjamin Salmon to find out more history on him, but came up blank.  If anyone does know who this was or whom the giver of the book is, I would love to hear from you.
