A Daughter of the Land is set in Gene Stratton-Porter's Limberlost series. Kate Bates lives in a man's world. It her dream to own and run her own farm. To fulfill her dreams she must give up everything and start anew.

There is a lot of variation in "First Editions" which focus on Issue Points.  I can find only one listing which claims its copy has "all" First Issue Points, while all others I find note that theirs is an "Early Print" with issue points now "corrected" for their listing.  Mine appears to be a hybrid, with at least one important issue point still uncorrected ("were" to "was").  In any case, here is the list of the issue points that I took from the only all First Issue points listing, and the status in my book:

1) Publisher name on spine has a closed Ampersand (contains diagonal cross line)
2) Lettering on cover and spine are supposed to both be orange in the "First Issue"; later issues apparently have one or the other in yellow print and decoration.  The front board and spine are rubbed but clear in my copy and both look the same color, closer to orange than yellow.
3) A key First Issue Point that is in my copy is the presence of "were" on Line 20, page 304.  This is shown in the last listing photo.  The corrected later printings changed "were" to "was".
4) Perfect page number on page 11; a First Issue point was that the first "1" was broken up.
5) Pages appear 1 1/4" when compressed in this copy; others state 1 1/8" thick when compressed.

The book overall is in VERY GOOD CONDITION.  Clean green cloth boards with lightly rubbed titling and decoration front board and spine.  Very solidly bound, no interior marks of any kind in 475 clean pages.
