The Belgium manufacturer, NIMY, was founded in 1789 by Joseph Antoine Dieulconne and ceased production in 1951.
These earthenware bowls are decorated in a rustic European folk art style with brightly colored flowers. The process was to hand stamp the cobalt blue flowers with shaped sponges on sticks, and the burgundy designs, yellow stripes, and green leaves were painted with brushes. The style and process indicate this set was produced in the late 1800s.
Each bowl carries the mark of the manufacturer on the bottom, "Manufacture Imperiale et Royale / Nimy / Fabrication Belge, Made in Belgium" with the Nimy crown mark. The diameters of the bowls are 6-7/8”, 5-6/8”, 4-7/8” and 3-6/8 “ and their depths are 2-7/8”, 2-5/8”, 1-7/8”and 1-6/8, respectively.
