Dream Theater, which continues to reign at the top of progressive metal, releases treasured sound sources such as live performances, demos, and studio outtakes as official bootlegs in the "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series.
The 10th release is the demo sound source for their 4th album ``Falling Into Infinity'' released in 1997, which was the only full-length album in which second-generation keyboardist Derek Sherinian (currently of Sons of Apollo) participated in the recording.
This album is a complete change from their previous album ``Awake,'' which was more aggressive on a dark and heavy track, and combines a flowing and beautiful melody with just the right amount of heaviness and the architectural beauty of progressive metal in an exquisite balance.
The variety of songs and arrangements that are not overly packed give the band a sense of maturity, and at the same time give them a sense of breadth.
