Electronic Parking Brake Retractor Tool. Use this handy tool to service rear electronic parking brakes on cars and trucks.
When replacing rear brakes on newer cars and trucks with electric parking brakes you must retract the brake piston by using a
scanner or manually take apart the motor assembly and then retract the piston.
Using the EBR (electronic brake retractor) Simply disconnect the pigtail connector wire on back of the
electric parking brake motor located on the brake caliper. Connect the wires on the EBR to the terminals
of the electric motor. Simply push and hold the toggle switch on the EBR for about 30 seconds, then you can
now manually push the brake piston in. If the brake piston does not retract, the EBR is equipped with a reverse
polarity switch and you may push the toggle switch in the opposite direction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwawuJ5eGNI
The EBR is powered by a 9 volt battery and is included with the unit. Every unit is tested before being shipped.
