The figures have a weighting option (last photo).

The caps on the bottom of the figures are removable. 

Weights can be inserted. 

In Soviet times, when there was a shortage of consumer goods, it was very difficult to buy such a chess set. It was a great success, and those who wished could hunt for half a year. It was almost impossible to get original weighting materials for this chess. Therefore, we mainly used weights from a fishing store and secured the weights with silicone.

It is unique chess. 

This set is brining us back to the Soviet time, when such simple product like chess was produced at machine-building plants whit all the highest soviet standarts of simplisity and quality. We back to the time when almost every male after working day and boy after school played chess. 

It was a very popular trend of 1980s -1990s. 

At this time very popular were professional chess tournament and the victory in chess tournament was very valuable. 

This kind of chess set was very popular among chess lovers. 

Due to the shortage of consumer goods, such chess was a real treasure of that Soviet time. To acquire such a chess set, one had to hunt for them for about 6 months and be resourceful in order to be the first to buy a set of chess sets, which were rarely supplied to the store and in very limited quantities.

This chess was made from plastic.
