On30 Mk II Plymouth FL-1 5 Ton 3D Body Kit



This is the Mk III version of our 3D printed Plymouth kit which is printed at 8K resolution so features even more body detail! This unusual and unique, On30 scale narrow gauge (16.5mm track) 5 Ton 'Plymouth' FL Kit is available now as a body-only kit.

'Out of the Box Models' specially commissioned this four piece 3D printed 1:48 scale model of a  powerful, short wheelbase industrial locomotive once common across the US, Japan, Taiwan & the South Pacific then we sourced simply the best mechanism to power it. 

Why not add DCC and Sound? Our supplied Japanese made mechanism (listed separately) is easily configured for DCC operation with separate track & motor connections easily accessed and there is just enough room behind the locomotive's radiator for the smallest of 'sugar cube' speakers.  

Our comprehensive kit features two separate high quality 3D printed body & chassis pieces to ease construction & painting. 



What you get:
  • 1 x On30 (16.5mm gauge) 3D printed 'Plymouth' 4-5 Ton Diesel Locomotive kit
    • two piece 3D printed body, easily primed, painted & weathered to your taste
    • two 'sliding' door pieces
    • window glazing is easily fitted to body & doors (not supplied)
    • there is sufficient room in both body & chassis for additional lead weights to aid traction
      • we recommend using sticky-backed real lead auto wheel balance weights
    • we can supply an assembled & tested Japanese made ARU double reduction mechanism 
      • not included in this body only kit but listed elsewhere 
      • easily modified for DCC applications
      • very short wheelbase of only 24.5mm (1") 
    • Plymouth locomotives used the traditional 'link & pin' couplings
      • chassis link/pin slots can be easily modified to accept KD 'whisker' or similar knuckle couplings

  • suitable for O Narrow and On30 applications
  • For 16.5mm gauge track
  • use Peco O-16.5 'crazy track' or HO scale track with some sleepers removed
