Description:“ Napoleone Martinuzzi (1892 – 1977) was one of the most important innovators in Murano glass art and artistic director of Venini from 1925 to 1931. Many new glassmaking techniques were applied in his creations which include sculptures, lamps and collectibles, which unequivocally bear his distinctive mark.” Processing Technique: OpaliniOPALINI PROCESSING TECHNIQUEIl lattimo it is an opaque white glass, invented in Murano around the middle of the 15th century with the aim of imitating the first porcelains that were very fashionable in Europe. It is obtained by overlapping the milk glass with a glass or more thin transparent and colored glasses, obtaining splendid objects with intense and bright colours. To embellish softly colored glass, gold and silver leaves are included on the entire surface, obtaining splendid "Aurati" objects.
